Too oft...Nathan, Thanks for posting your thoughts. <br />Too often I see organizations implement Agile programs, viewed only as a process to develop new ideas. The reality in building a culture that is more "failure tolerant" culture is far more complex. If business leaders are serious around adjusting their cultures, they need to consider factors such as processes around employee reward / recognition / retention, employee training, organizational design, internal communication programs, etc. As radical disruption impacts all sectors, every company needs to become more innovative, and conversely accept more failure. Exciting times and well positioned article. Good work! It fully matches my professional experience which was, a company always succeed if all functions work together and no function believes it is the most important. Equally, companies who fail don't follow this simple strategy of team work and customer orientation. In most companies the one or the other function tries to dominate often succeeding due to market conditions (e.g. Sales, Finance, Procurement, IT, seldom Operations). It's simply remarkable how people/companies can complicate issues, particularly in large enterprises.Dieter Siebernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7775241200029689204.post-6672947638774910352016-09-05T17:18:42.692+08:002016-09-05T17:18:42.692+08:00Agree that the business model (in-app purchases) i...Agree that the business model (in-app purchases) is transitory, but augmented reality is just popping its head over those hills. I can see it happening all the time . what I cant decide is - is it better that all is forgotten / deleted /erased or am I worried that it is captured somewhere forever . Both equally uncertain- I want some of the things forgotten and some recorded forever , however we always get this other way around. thats life! As a glass half full person I believe it's one of the most exciting times to be alive - right now. I think the common mistake large organisations make with the ctrl-alt-del scenario is restructure without thought – what was not working, why was it not working, where do you want the business to go, what would you do differently and how do you avoid the same situation reoccurring? Like the Task Manager, sometimes a reset button is good, but why was it needed, is the question? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing... but then how much do we factor user error into this equation as well?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05328669055121558068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7775241200029689204.post-36688063281457285112015-11-06T13:03:32.897+08:002015-11-06T13:03:32.897+08:00Well Done Nathan, a great team effort ! now lets p...Well Done Nathan, a great team effort ! now lets put the first coat of paint on the inside of the house by 'training the team' through to proficieny, Genix is standing by to support team telkomtelstra !Genix Asia Pacificnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7775241200029689204.post-80536737255959590962015-11-06T12:53:35.139+08:002015-11-06T12:53:35.139+08:00Great article Nathan. I think ...Nathan, good stuff... i like the debate. I think whatever the solution ends up being, the "Innovation" or "Stiffling of Innovation" needs to be addressed in the conversation. There has been incredible innovation in OTT providers and other internet based business models due partly because of this equal-access laboratory available to them... at the cost of the Service Provider. Why doesn't some of that value created transfer to the SP at some point? While the operational scaling of the infrastructure is one key problem for the SP, it somewhat assumes a passive role in the Innovation process occurring around them. Another question is how can the SP, who are providing the "Innovation laboratory" get compensated as these Innovations start to realise their potential and start to monetise. What role can or do the SP's want to play in the Innovation lifecylce? R&D and investments starts to become a line item on an SP balance sheet but not in the traditional sense.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17555320882354125934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7775241200029689204.post-88448076086138938842014-06-24T12:40:03.018+08:002014-06-24T12:40:03.018+08:00Hi Phill, The ability for this discussion to happe...Hi Phill, The ability for this discussion to happen will depend on whether this community is willing to proactively engage in the conversation or whether we wait for the tipping point when costs exceed revenue and the people that lose are the end users. Hence the Content and Telco community either decide to proactively engage at one of the up and coming Internet forums or we work to pick up the pieces when it falls apart ... hopefully the former in any case!Nathan Bellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15617874470202762824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7775241200029689204.post-86753705115016484582014-06-24T12:37:34.858+08:002014-06-24T12:37:34.858+08:00Hi JF, agree the time has come for a look at the b...Hi JF, agree the time has come for a look at the bigger picture, understand the required end to end user experience as well as the cost and balanced money view, hopefully more of these conversations will encourage that broader approach!Nathan Bellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15617874470202762824noreply@blogger.com
